Arup Roy, Lecturer in English Language & Literature, Kanchkura University College

A library is called a storehouse of knowledge because it preserves knowledge through the collection of books, journals, magazines, newspapers, etc. Therefore, the library has become an important part of education. Without it, an educational institution cannot be imagined. Our college has a rich library. It is on the third floor of our academic building and it is south facing. Therefore, air and light easily enter the room. It consists of three rooms. Each room has 8 windows and two doors; Each room is electrified with sufficient electric bulbs and fans. So, our library can preserve a comfortable environment. By the way, the most important part of our library is that it is full of books ranging from literature, history, philosophy, theology, science, agriculture, English and Bangla grammar, etc. arranged systematically.  At least twenty thousand books are arranged on the shelves in our library. We have also access to data stored in CDs and DVDs. The library remains open from 8 am – 5 pm. Both teachers and students come to the library regularly. A calm, quiet and serene environment is preserved by the authority; it is also kept neat and clean. We are also happy to find three efficient and qualified librarians assisted by six attendants who are experts to find out books for us. We can also issue books against our library cards. Therefore, our college library has been an integral part of our academic career. We love our library; we are proud of our college library.
