A rainy day is a day when it rains all day long. A rainy day in a hot summer is always welcomed. Before the rain, it is a hot and sultry day. There is no breeze and everything is motionless. Then, some black clouds begin to gather. It grows dark and gloomy and the sun goes behind the cloud. Strong winds blow with thunder and lightning. Finally, comes the rain filling up our streets. With the falling of rains, everyone becomes happy. Peacocks present dance on a rainy day. Frogs in ponds cry very loudly. Buffaloes enjoy a bath in water ponds. Some people enjoy rain baths including children who play in rainwater. Farmers become happy. Rain at this moment is a blessing for them. People come out in raincoats and use umbrellas during rains. If it is raining in the morning, children become happy because it is going to be a holiday for them. Cold weather blows. The weather becomes pleasant due to rains. There is thunder and lighting. But a rainy day can become dull and gloomy for some people because nobody can go out without an umbrella. Water stands on roads. Those who have offices and other businesses go out with umbrellas over the head, shoes in hand, and clothes folded up to the knee. A passerby also moves in the same way. Sometimes people slip and fall on the midway. The Poor suffer much on a rainy day as they cannot go out for work under an open sky. Other people also stay at home and pass the day without doing anything. The Cattle keep standing in their shed and below for fodder. Thus, a rainy day can be both enjoyable and monotonous.
