In fact, our body needs balanced foods which include vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and water. We eat various types of foods such as fruits, vegetables, fishes, meat, grains, spices, milk, oil, etc. to ensure a balanced diet. However, it is a matter of sorrow that all the above-mentioned food items are being adulterated regularly. The greedy businessmen mix chemicals with food items. They mix formalin to preserve foods for a longer period of time. Moreover, they mix carbides to make fruits tasty. Furthermore, usage of color in vegetables, fruits, and spices has also been noticed. Usage of color makes the food items look fresh and natural. These greedy businessmen do not hesitate to use other chemical substances such as DDT, Aldrin, Chlordane, etc. The reason behind such heinous activities is profit. Making a profit is not the area of concern. But, How a profit is made is a serious issue to discuss. The greedy businessmen are making money at the cost of other people's life. The chemical substances mentioned above are detrimental to our health. They simply damage our sensitive organs such as our hearts, kidneys, lungs, brains, etc. These chemicals also cause high blood pressure, liver damage, cancer, etc. It is high time authority took proper steps. Local markets should be monitored regularly. If anyone is found in food adulteration, he or she should be punished immediately.
