Subject: Prayer for the Construction of a Bridge
Dear Sir,
With due respect, we the dwellers of Rupnagar village and Srinagar village under your union council would like to draw your kind notice to the fact that there is a canal that separates the two villages. The villagers are to cross the canal to reach their destinations via each other's village. For example, If the students of Rupnagar village want to reach their college, they have to cross the canal because they have to reach the college via Srinagar village. On the other hand, the people of Srinagar are to go to market via the Rupnagar village because the market is situated on the edge of Rupnagar. Furthermore, they regularly go to visit each other's village for other social purposes. But it is a matter of regret that though thousands of people cross the canal every day, there is no bridge over the canal. Boats are the only means of communication for them. Therefore, people are to spend a lot of time in big queues to get on the boats. Moreover, when the canal becomes dry during the winter season, the misery of the people knows no bounds. The canal turns into a muddy place. People are to fold their pants up to the knee and hold their shoes in their hands to cross the canal.
We therefore pray and hope that you would be gracious enough to take the above-mentioned situation into your consideration and take immediate steps to build a bridge over the canal so that people of your locality can move to their destinations easily.
Yours obediently
