Dear Jack,
I became completely shocked to hear that you were admitted to a hospital yesterday due to diarrhea. It is undoubtedly a fatal disease that can take away one's life if not treated in time. You should be grateful to your family for taking you to the hospital on time.
Incidentally, I am experiencing a sense of guilt for my incapability to stand by your side at this moment as I am attending my first-year examination which will take a week to finish.
By the way, I request you cooperate with the doctors and follow the instructions properly. Please don't be upset about anything. You might feel very weak, but you will recover soon. Every year thousands of people in our country suffer from this water-borne disease. However, due to tremendous advancements in medical science, they recover from the disease very quickly.
If we maintain hygiene and stop having food from roadside shops, hotels, and restaurants, we can get rid of such suffering.
I'm sending my younger brother Rohit to hand you this letter and one of my favorite storybooks that will surely remove your boredom and energize you. Hope that I'll meet you and have a lot of fun together immediately after the end of my exam. Be confident, follow the doctors' instructions, and get well soon.
Your loving friend,
Arup
