Organic vs Non-organic Foods
The demand for organic foods has increased in the last twenty years. The USA and many European markets have noted increased sales. Answers

a. In which structure is this essay written? Explain your response with examples. Though the essay does not have more than two body paragraphs, the provided essay is structured in point-by-point format. While the first body paragraph glorifies different nutritious values of organic foods in comparison with non-organic foods. The second body paragraph talks about health benefits of organic animal foods. Finally, we can see that instead of describing all the aspects of organic and non-organic foods in seperate paragraphs, each body paragraph addresses points of comparison between the subjects.

b. How many body paragraphs are there in the essay?
There are only two body paragraphs in the essay.

c. What are the points of comparison the writer has used in the essay?
The lines of comparison used by the writer are: 1. Nutritional content: antioxidants, micronutrients like iron, zinc, and vitamin C 2. Presence of toxic substances: pesticides like cadmium 3. Appearance: natural versus perfect shapes 4. Content of omega-3 fatty acids and saturated fats in animal products.

d. How many similarities and differences between organic and nonorganic foods are talked about in the essay?
The essay points out that there are some similarities in terms of the nutritional contents between organic and non-organic foods. Various differences are brought out, including higher quantities of antioxidants in organic foods, higher levels of certain micronutrients in organic foods, the lack of poisonous pesticides like cadmium in organic food, more natural shapes in organic foods compared to the absolute shapes of non-organic foods, and more omega-3 fatty acids and less saturated fat content in organic animal products.

e. Do you think the writer has shared his opinion in the essay? If yes, explain your answer.
Yes, the author does give their opinion in the essay. This can be evidenced in multiple places where the author presents judgments and evaluations, for example, stating that organic foods are "safer, tastier, and healthier than non-organic foods," and gives the conclusion that "organic foods are more helpful for preventing chronic illnesses." In addition, the author shows that organic foods have "more positive effects on health," hence giving more of their opinion about the benefit of organic foods over non-organic.

f. Does the writer restate the thesis and points of comparison in the conclusion? If yes, describe your responses.
Yes, the author repeats the thesis and points of comparison within the conclusion. The conclusion summarizes the main points of comparison that were discussed in the body paragraphs: the higher amounts of antioxidants in organic foods, the lower levels of hazardous elements such as nitrates and cadmium in organic foods, This final conclusion reiterates the finding that, in general, organic foodstuffs are more conducive to human health.

g. If you want to add a body paragraph, what will be your point/s of comparison? If I were to add a third body paragraph, I would draw a comparison between the environmental effects of both kinds of farming. Organic farming does not result in the degradation of soil, as happens in non-organic farming because of chemicals used that sustain fertility and increase biodiversity instead. It also reduces water pollution from chemical runoffs and air pollution, while the resistant pests and weeds from non-organic farming have impacts on water and air pollution. It also helps to fight climate change through more carbon locking into the soil, as opposed to non-organic agriculture, which has contributed to increased greenhouse gases as a result of synthetic inputs.
