Assessment Guidelines

To excel in the Listening Assessment, students must demonstrate:

  • Accuracy (5 points): Ability to correctly capture and reproduce key information without errors.
  • Detail Retention (5 points): Retention of specific details, such as dates, names, and numbers, mentioned in the audio.
  • Inference (5 points): Capacity to interpret implied meanings, emotions, or context beyond the literal words.
  • Engagement (5 points): Active listening reflected through body language, focus, and minimal distractions.
Scoring reflects levels of proficiency:
  • 4-5 points: Excellent understanding with minor to no mistakes.
  • 2-3 points: Moderate understanding with some gaps or errors.
  • 0-1 points: Limited understanding, frequent errors, or lack of focus.
