Speaking Assessment Scoring Rubric
Assessment Guidelines
To achieve a score of 4 or 5 in fluency, pronunciation, coherence, vocabulary, and confidence, students should demonstrate natural and smooth speech delivery, clear and accurate articulation, logical organization and flow of ideas, a wide range of precise vocabulary, and self-assured communication. These qualities reflect advanced proficiency.
Scores of 1, 2, or 3 indicate struggles with hesitant or incomplete speech, unclear pronunciation, disorganized ideas, limited vocabulary, or visible nervousness. These scores denote basic to intermediate proficiency, requiring further development for effective communication.
